How it works

Three steps. Two minutes to set up.

  1. Build your card

Add your allergies, intolerances and preferences, and how severe each one is. Up to six profiles on one account, for the whole family.

  2. Show it anywhere

Your card appears in red, amber and green, in the language of the place you're in. Hand over your phone, or play it aloud.

  3. Check before you choose

Scan a product's barcode in the shop, or look up a dish you don't recognise, and see straight away whether anything matches your profile.

Questions

Good to know

Is MyFoodID free?

Yes. The app is free for everyone who uses it to manage their own dietary needs.

Does it tell me what's safe to eat?

No, and nothing can promise that. MyFoodID shows whether a dish or product appears to contain something on your profile, based on the information available. Always confirm with the person preparing your food.

Which allergies does it cover?

All 14 major allergens, plus other foods you add, intolerances such as lactose or gluten, and preferences such as vegan, halal or kosher.

Which languages are there?

15, including French, Spanish, Italian, German, Greek, Chinese and Japanese. More are planned.

Can I set it up for my family?

Yes. One account holds up to six profiles, each with its own card.

Where is my information kept?

On secure servers in the UK, run by MY ID Ltd, the company behind MyFoodID. We never sell your data. You can delete your account at any time.

Do I need to download anything?

Not yet. Open MyFoodID in your phone's browser and add it to your home screen. On iPhone, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, tap the menu, then Add to Home screen. It then opens from its own icon, like any other app. The App Store and Google Play versions follow in early 2027.
